The Cathedral Eye Clinic

The Cathedral Eye Clinic opened in Belfast in March 2008. It is one of the first organisations to be based in the business units of the newly refurbished York street campus of the University of Ulster. It is also one of the first healthcare facilities to be located in the regeneration area of Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter.

Complete Ophthalmic Consultancy and Treatment service

The Cathedral Eye Clinic has a team of consultant ophthalmologists providing specialist expertise in laser and refractive surgery, cataract surgery, anterior segment surgery, medical and surgical retina and oculoplastic surgery.

This range of medical expertise enables the clinic to treat eye conditions that may not be suitable for standard refractive surgery in other clinics. For example, Professor Johnny Moore specializes in treating difficult corneal and anterior segment problems using the most up-to-date laser platforms and intraocular lens technologies available in the world today. New treatments for the management of keratoconus, such as automated mechanical or laser lamellar surgery and Intacs, are also available. Please contact the Cathedral Eye Clinic for further information on other treatments.

Private and public patients, emergency care for the community

The clinic welcomes both private and NHS patients including emergency care for patients in the local community.
