Professor Jonathan Moore is one of the world’s most respected practitioners in the field of laser, cataract and other intra-ocular eye surgery and has personally completed over 5,000 treatments. He has published numerous scientific papers on laser eye surgery in internationally recognised medical journals and has also been interviewed by BBC News and other international media. Professor Moore’s main interests include cataract and refractive surgery outcomes along with surface infection, inflammation and reconstructive surgery whilst he is the co-founder of the Dry-eye Research group for the University of Ulster. These studies are focusing upon using molecular DNA technology and proteomics to unravel some of the complexities with in this system.

Whatever you do, don’t feel intimidated by all these technical terms. Professor Moore (Jonny)’s feet have certainly remained firmly on the ground as he successfully manages to juggle his passion for eyes and spending time with his wife and four young children. Jonny will often spend a lot more time than required with you to ensure that the right choice is made and that you, the patient, have 100% confidence in the procedure that you’re going to go ahead with. Wherever he is, whatever he’s doing, he always seems to find time to respond to any queries, or maybe just to chat about the rugby results.
